Author Guidelines

Ife Research Publications in Geography uses Open Journal Manuscripts System to peer review manuscript submissions. Complete guidelines for preparing and submitting your manuscript to this journal are provided below. 
The instructions below are specifically directed at authors that wish to submit a manuscript to Ife Research Publications in Geography. 
Contributions to Ife Research Publications in Geography must report original research and will be subjected to review by referees at the discretion of the Editorial board.
Ife Research Publication in Geography considers all manuscripts on the strict condition that they have been submitted only to Ife Research Publications in Geography, that they have not been published already, and are not under consideration for publication or in press elsewhere. Authors who fail to adhere to this condition will be charged with all costs which Ife Research Publication in Geography incurs and their papers will not be published. 
Ife Research Publications in Geography publishes scholarly papers in English. The journal invites article submissions between 4000 - 6000 words.
The word count relates to the main text only. It does not include the Abstract, References list, Figure captions, Tables, Textboxes, or Appendixes.

A.  Title page :The title page should include the following information:
1. Title of paper 
2. Full name, current full postal address, and e-mail address for each author. Give the English 
name of institutional addresses. Give also the institutional address where the work was carried 
out if it differs from the current address
3. Abstract, in one paragraph, maximum 200 words, including the objective(s), methods, results 
(i.e. main findings), and conclusions.
4. 3–5 keywords or keyword phrases.

B.  Main Manuscript:
1. No automatic formatting in the text.
2. No numbering
3. Title of the Paper, abstract and keywords ( No author(s) names )
4. Body texts in 12 pt Time New Romance, double-spaced, justified. No bold font or 
underlining.
5. Main texts, Figures, Tables, and Appendixes submitted in a paginated MS WORD file.
6. Main texts contain cross-references to all Figures, Tables, and Appendixes. 
7. British, American, or other version of English should not be mixed.
8. Section headings (up to 3 levels): Level 1, 14 pt; Level 2, 12 pt, italic; Level 3, 12 pt, italic, followed by a full stop or colon and run on into the text.
9. References formatted in accordance with the guidelines.
10. Figures prepared in accordance with relevant instructions.

References: The journal’s references style is as follow:

References cited in the text 
1. All published works cited in the text should be included in References list. 
2. Single author: Author (2016); co-authors: Author & Author (2016); multiple authors: Author et al. (2016). 
3. Multiple references cited in parentheses should be listed in date order, separated by a semi-colon: (Author 2005; Author & Author 2006; Author et al. 2007). Do not use any commas except before page numbers of direct quotes. 
4. Multiple works by the same author and published in the same year should be styled: (Author 2008a; 2008b; 2008c) and so forth. 
5. Style references with page numbers as follows: (Author 2013, 1–3; Author 2014, 61). 
6. Papers accepted for publication may be referred to as ‘in press’: (Author in press). 
7. Unpublished works and papers in preparation should be described in endnotes. Style: (A. Author, unpublished data).

Figures 
1. Figures must be sharp (at least 300 dpi). 
2. All maps, diagrams, and graphs should be surrounded by a thin frame line. 
3. Aim for a balanced overall appearance with no large blocks of very dark shading. 
4. All maps should have a scale (with ‘km’ or other abbreviation at the right-hand end), a simple north point, and geographical coordinates or other information to fix the geographical position (e.g. paired Northing and Easting marks, Arctic Circle) (see recent issues for style). 
5. Use ‘Legend’ not ‘Key’ 
6. All place names mentioned in the text should be shown on a Figure
7. Figure captions should provide sufficient information to allow the figure to be understood without referring to the text. Where relevant, indicate the date of the information. Provide secondary sources if used. 
8. Scientific names in italic
9. All measurements in metric units.
10. Values in local currency accompanied by a USD equivalent in parentheses (i.e. equivalent at the time referred to in the text).

Tables 
1. Each table should be numbered in sequence using Arabic numerals (i.e. Table 1, 2, 3 etc).
2. Tables should also have a title that summarizes the whole table, maximum 10 words.
3. Tables should be included one after the other in the main text of the submitted manuscript.
